CHEERS! Mulled Wine

Mulled wine is fine for the holidays. Or any day, really.

What’s better than wine? Mulled wine. Warm, spicy, and fragrant, it’s the perfect drink to get you in the spirit of the season. This crowd favorite is surprisingly easy to make and warms up a room instantly.

MULLED WINE

  • 1 (750-ml) bottle red wine

  • 1/4 cup brandy (optional)

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 orange, zested and juiced

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 3 star anise

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan, and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, and let simmer for at least 15 minutes. Ladle into heatproof glass, garnish with cinnamon stick and serve.
