How long have you lived in Marietta?
I’ve lived in the area for most of my life (Roswell as a kid, East Cobb for high school, Atlanta for some college), but I’ve lived in the ‘small town’ historic Marietta area for about eight years now. If I get more than a mile away from the square, I turn into a pumpkin.
What brings you to downtown Marietta?
When I first moved here, I was fresh out of dropping out of college and living in my sister’s kitchen. So, I guess it was proximity to the fridge that first brought me to downtown Marietta. Not much has changed.
What’s your favorite thing about downtown Marietta?
Any place that can make a city full of 60,000 people feel like a small town must have some powerful magic going on. Getting old southern charm and weird artsy folks in the same place is a recipe for an interesting life – and it’s exciting to get to see it happen more and more. So small town feel, southern magic, artsy weirdos – those are my favorite things about Marietta. Being on first name terms with your bartender doesn’t hurt, either.
